Who we are and what we want

We are a well-established Silvermoon raiding team that was born in 2005 and has successfully conquered every challenge presented to us. Many raid teams have come and gone, but our group has only become stronger with age. Our philosophy is simple; we are singularly driven by progression and conquering content above all things. This is not a guild that sits around farming old content when there are new dragons that need to be slain. It is a guild of mature, committed and driven raiders who play World of Warcraft because of the exciting challenges presented in the raiding game.

Despite our progress, we treat every new member as an equal; we aren't in the business of intimidating or belittling recruits. As a potential applicant you should feel confident that you have every opportunity to become a raider, but ultimately your success or failure is in your own hands.

To ensure that you are a good fit, we suggest you review the following guidelines before applying:

Knowledge

You are expected to be extremely well versed in the mechanics of your class, raid encounters and the game in general. You should be able to hold an intelligent conversation regarding your talent build, gear choices, methods and relevant raid encounters. We are looking for smart players, not drooling button mashers. If you expect us to hold your hand and teach you how to play your class while telling you a story about what the big bad demon with the sharp swords does, we're all going to be disappointed.

Skill

This is the hardest thing to discuss because nobody wants to admit they are "unskilled." Raiding in World of Warcraft requires players to have above average reaction times. It also requires you to think and react without being told what to do. This isn't Molten Core where 10 people are doing all the work; one person with crappy judgment or sloppy reflexes can quickly send a raid into a downward spiral of suck. Please be honest with yourself because if you aren't comfortable in situations that require rapid movement and quick decision making, you are unlikely to be successful at raiding. Before I forget, if you turn your character with your keyboard, just hit "X" on your browser right now :P

Attitude

Attitude is everything. A skilled player with a lousy attitude is as detrimental to a guild as a lousy player with a good attitude. We don't want either. Loot whores, drama queens, attention divas, egomaniacs, selfish "me-first" raiders, and people that act like that 12 year old kid in Trade Chat aren't going to survive in Jesters. We all have our "moments" but if you're constantly a distraction we aren't going to get along. We sometimes get applications with comments like, "A lot of people think I'm an asshole..." or "I always speak my mind and that sometimes gets me in trouble." If your personality is "strong" or you have a history of not getting along with others, please look elsewhere. We have a smooth-running ship and we will keep it that way :D

Availability

In a typical week, you are required to attend a minimum of four out of five DKP raids. That is the watermark for a core raider in Jesters. The reason is simple. It is impossible to develop consistency when someone only attends 2 raids a week, and it's equally impossible to effectively gear a rapidly progressing guild when you have 50 part-time players. We are also unable to accept seasonal applicants (i.e. "I can only raid when school is out"), and we do not accept applicants that are not in control of their play time (i.e. "Mommy says it's bath time.")

If you've made it this far, you probably are either saying "these guys are crazy" or "that's exactly what I've been looking for." If the latter is true, please proceed to apply, otherwise we wish you well in finding a home that fits your needs on the server. We realize that hardcore raiding isn't for everyone, but for those that get a thrill from it, we feel there is no better home.

Our current raid schedule is as follows:

Monday-Thursday, 6 PM PST to 10 PM PST
Sunday, 4 PM PST to 9 PM PST

Connection

You must have a stable connection to WoW. It is ultimately your responsibility to have adequate computing power and a stable connection (though the latter may be out of your hands) and if you do not, you will simply not be invited to raids.

Who to Contact

DPS - Nathor or Bulger
Tanking - Jaril or Zhukii
Healing - Chaws
General Questions - Awnar

Response Time

We typically have a 3 day turn around for applications, please contact one of the above officers if you have not heard anything after 3 days. We try to contact all qualified applicants even if there isn't an opening, but we can get behind so please don't hesitate to catch us online. Remember your application is our first chance to get to know you and if it is clear that you haven't put any effort into it then we have little faith that you will be able to put effort into our raids.

Thank you for considering Jesters as your home!

P.S. In case you were wondering, applications are private (to our officers only) :D
